목포시는 지난 13일 광주은행과 목포시청 직장운동경기부 여자하키팀 지원을 위한 공식 후원 협약을 체결했다고 밝혔다.

협약식에는 조석훈 목포시장 권한대행 부시장, 고병일 광주은행장, 광주은행 부행장 및 전남도청·목포시청 지점장, 도·시 하키협회장, 시체육회장, 하키팀 감독 등 10여 명이 참석했다.

이번 협약을 통해 광주은행은 2026년부터 2028년까지 매년 3천만 원씩, 총 9천만 원을 목포시청 여자하키팀에 지정 기탁하기로 했다.

후원금은 목포시 체육회를 통해 전달되며, 선수들의 훈련용품 구입 등 팀 운영에 활용될 예정이다.

고병일 광주은행장은 “목포시청 여자하키팀은 목포를 대표하는 훌륭한 팀으로, 꾸준한 성과로 시민들에게 큰 감동을 주고 있다”며 “광주은행은 앞으로도 지역 체육의 든든한 후원자로서 책임을 다하겠다.”고 말했다.

시 관계자는 “광주은행의 적극적인 후원은 전남 유일의 우리시 여자하키팀이 안정적인 환경 속에서 기량을 발휘할 수 있도록 하는 든든한 힘이 될 것”이라고 밝혔다.

목포시청 여자하키팀은 최근 한국대학실업연맹회장배 하키대회에서 우승을 차지하는 등 꾸준히 우수한 성적을 거두고 있다. 이번 후원을 계기로 선수들의 활동과 경쟁력 향상이 더욱 기대된다.

한편, 목포신항만운영(주)도 2021년부터 매년 1천만 원을 후원하며 팀의 안정적 운영과 지역 스포츠 발전을 지원하고 있다.

Annual Contribution of 30 Million KRW from 2026 to 2028
[Mokpo, Jeonnam] – Gwangju Bank has signed an official sponsorship agreement to support the Mokpo City Hall Women’s Hockey Team. The agreement covers an annual contribution of 30 million KRW from 2026 to 2028, totaling 90 million KRW.
The funds will be distributed through the Mokpo City Sports Council and used for training equipment and team operations.
Ko Byung-il, President of Gwangju Bank, stated, “The Mokpo City Hall Women’s Hockey Team consistently inspires citizens with its excellent performance. We are proud to support local sports.”
The team has recently won the Korean University-Industrial League President’s Cup Hockey Tournament, demonstrating its competitive strength.
Since 2021, Mokpo New Port Operations Co., Ltd. has also supported the team with an annual contribution of 10 million KRW, helping ensure stable team operations and promoting local sports development.
