목포신안통합추진위원회(통추위) 청년분과(위원장 장광욱)는 지난 11일, 청년 위원과 시 관계자 등 30여 명이 참여한 가운데 신안군 내 고령·취약가구를 방문해 집수리 봉사활동을 진행했다.

이번 봉사활동은 도배와 장판 교체, 주거환경 정비 등을 중심으로 진행되었으며, 열악한 환경에 놓인 가구의 생활 여건을 개선하는 데 중점을 뒀다.

청년위원들은 직접 땀을 흘리며 봉사에 참여하며 지역사회에 온정을 전했다.

또한 봉사활동과 함께 목포·신안 통합의 필요성과 기대효과를 주민들에게 알리는 홍보활동도 병행하며, 청년 주도의 통합 공감대 형성에 힘을 더했다.

장광욱 청년분과 위원장은 “신안과의 꾸준한 교류와 봉사활동은 단순한 지원을 넘어 상호 신뢰를 쌓는 과정”이라며 “앞으로도 청년이 앞장서 목포와 신안이 함께 성장할 수 있도록 통합 실현에 기여하겠다.”고 말했다.

고석규 통추위 위원장은 “청년들의 따뜻한 봉사의 손길이 목포와 신안을 하나로 이어주는 든든한 다리가 되길 기대한다.”고 전했다.

한편, 통추위 청년분과는 2023년 12월 출범 이후 신안 대광해수욕장 환경정화, 목포·신안 청년 친선 축구대회, 목포·신안 청년 한가족 워크숍, 신안 농가 봉사활동 등 다양한 교류 프로그램을 추진하며 양 지역 협력과 상생의 가교 역할을 이어오고 있다.

Youth Division of Mokpo-Shinan Integration Committee Conducts Home Repair Volunteer Work in Shinan
Youth-led initiative strengthens integration awareness and promotes mutual cooperation
The Youth Division of the Mokpo-Shinan Integration Committee (Chairman Jang Kwang-wook) carried out home repair volunteer activities on October 11, with participation from over 30 people, including youth committee members and city officials, visiting households of elderly and vulnerable residents in Shinan County.
The volunteer activities focused on wallpapering, flooring replacement, and general home environment improvement, aiming to enhance the living conditions of families in challenging circumstances.
The youth volunteers actively participated in the work, delivering warmth and care to the local community.
Alongside the volunteer activities, the committee also conducted public awareness efforts to inform residents about the need for Mokpo-Shinan integration and its anticipated benefits, further strengthening community support led by young people.
Chairman Jang Kwang-wook stated, “Continuous exchanges and volunteer activities with Shinan go beyond simple support—they are a process of building mutual trust. We will continue to take the lead in realizing integration so that Mokpo and Shinan can grow together.”
Go Seok-gyu, committee chairman of the Integration Committee, added, “We hope the warm hands of these youth volunteers will become a strong bridge connecting Mokpo and Shinan.”
Since its launch in December 2023, the Youth Division of the Integration Committee has promoted various exchange programs, including environmental cleanup at Daegwang Beach in Shinan, Mokpo-Shinan youth friendly soccer tournaments, Mokpo-Shinan youth family workshops, and volunteer work at Shinan farms, playing a key role in fostering cooperation and mutual growth between the two regions.
