영암서 제29회 전남도 노인의 날 기념식 개최

전라남도는 14일 영암 호텔현대 바이 라한 목포에서 대한노인회 전남연합회 주관으로 ‘제29회 전라남도 노인의 날 기념식’을 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이번 행사는 어르신들의 공헌을 기리고, 세대 간 공경 문화를 확산하기 위해 마련됐다.

기념식에는 김영록 전남도지사, 이광일 전남도의회 부의장, 김대중 전남도교육감, 모상묘 전남경찰청장, 정양수 대한노인회 전남연합회장과 22개 시군 지회장 및 읍면 분회장 등 600여 명이 참석했다.

행사에서는 모범노인회, 모범부부, 노인복지 발전 기여자에 대한 유공 표창과 어르신들을 위한 축하공연이 진행됐다.

특히, 모범부부로 선정된 보성군 정원기(88세)·김옥연(85세) 부부는 68년간 부부의 연을 이어 6남매를 훌륭하게 키우고, 3대에 걸친 병역 명문가 표창을 받는 등 지역사회와 국가 발전에 헌신한 공로를 인정받았다.

정양수 전남연합회장은 “노인들이 지혜와 경험을 나누는 ‘어른다운 노인’으로 존경받길 바라며, 앞으로도 노인회의 발전과 화합, 활기찬 노후 지원에 최선을 다하겠다.”고 말했다.

김영록 지사는 “오픈 AI와 SK의 글로벌 AI 데이터센터 구축으로 전남이 크게 발전할 것”이라며 “오늘날 자랑스러운 대한민국과 전남을 있게 해주신 어르신을 잘 모시고, 청년이 돌아오는 전남을 만드는 데 최선을 다하겠다.”고 강조했다.

전남도는 앞으로도 기초연금 확대, 노인일자리 지원, 경로당 운영, 전남형 의료·요양·복지 통합 돌봄 등 맞춤형 정책을 지속적으로 추진할 계획이다.

29th Jeonnam Senior Citizens’ Day Ceremony Held in Yeongam
Awards for Model Couples and Senior Welfare Contributors, with Celebration Performances -
On October 14, the Jeonnam Federation of Senior Citizens hosted the 29th Jeonnam Senior Citizens’ Day Ceremony at Hotel Hyundai By Lahan in Yeongam. The event was held to honor the contributions of senior citizens and promote intergenerational respect.
About 600 people attended the ceremony, including Governor Kim Young-rok, Vice Chair Lee Kwang-il of the Jeonnam Provincial Assembly, Superintendent Kim Dae-jung of the Jeonnam Office of Education, Chief Mo Sang-myo of the Jeonnam Police, Chairman Jeong Yang-su of the Jeonnam Federation of Senior Citizens, and heads of 22 municipal senior associations.
The ceremony featured awards for model senior associations, model couples, and contributors to senior welfare, along with celebration performances for the elderly.
Notably, the model couple award went to Jeong Won-gi (88) and Kim Ok-yeon (85) of Boseong County, who have been married for 68 years. They successfully raised six children and were recognized for their family’s three generations of military service, as well as their dedication to community and national development.
Chairman Jeong Yang-su said, “We hope seniors continue to be respected as wise contributors who share their knowledge and experience. The Federation will continue to strive for its development, unity, and support for active and fulfilling lives of the elderly.”
Governor Kim Young-rok stated, “With the establishment of the global AI data center by OpenAI and SK, Jeonnam will see significant growth. We will continue to honor the seniors who helped make today’s proud Korea and Jeonnam, and do our best to make Jeonnam a place where young people want to return.”
Jeonnam Province plans to continue implementing tailored policies for the elderly, including expanded basic pensions, senior employment support, senior center operations, and integrated healthcare and welfare services.
