세계 여자골프 여제들, 청정 남도 해남 상륙!

세계 30개국을 대표하는 여자골프의 여제들이 청정 남도 해남으로 향한다.

오는 16일부터 19일까지 해남 파인비치 골프링크스에서 열리는 ‘LPGA BMW 레이디스 챔피언십’은 호남권 최초로 개최되는 LPGA 정규투어 대회로, 전 세계 170여 개국에 생중계된다.

가을빛으로 물든 전남의 아름다운 해안 절경을 배경으로 펼쳐질 이번 대회에는 세계랭킹 4위 이민지, 고진영·김효주·유해란 등 대한민국을 대표하는 선수는 물론, 브룩 헨더슨(캐나다), 야마시타 미유(일본), 마야 스타르크(스웨덴) 등 각국 정상급 선수들이 출전해 세계 골프 팬들의 관심이 집중되고 있다.

특히 전라남도 추천으로 이정은이 특별 초청 선수로 합류하면서, 해남은 세계 여자골프의 중심 무대로 주목받고 있다.

전남도는 이번 대회를 남도의 매력을 세계에 알리는 절호의 기회로 삼고, 대회장 내에 남도국제미식산업박람회, 여수세계섬박람회, 전남투어 프로그램 홍보관 등을 운영한다.

이를 통해 지역 농수축산물, 관광자원, 국제행사를 동시에 홍보하며 전남의 브랜드 가치를 높일 계획이다.

또한 외국 선수단에게는 ‘K-전남김’을 포함한 웰컴키트를 제공하고, 지역 특산물인 전복 등 남도 식자재를 선수단 식당에 공급해 전남의 ‘맛과 품격’을 전 세계에 선보인다.

유현호 전남도 관광체육국장은 “세계적인 선수들이 해남의 바람과 파도를 가르며 스윙을 펼치는 순간, 전남의 자연과 문화가 세계에 울려 퍼질 것”이라며 “이번 대회를 계기로 전남이 글로벌 스포츠 중심지로 도약하고, 남도의 매력이 세계 속에 깊이 각인되길 기대한다.”고 말했다.

World’s Top Female Golfers Head to Pristine Haenam, Jeonnam!
– LPGA BMW Ladies Championship to be held at Pine Beach CC, Oct. 16–19 –
– Jeonnam to promote local festivals and tourism to showcase the charm of Namdo worldwide –
The world’s top female golfers from 30 countries are heading to the pristine southern region of Haenam, Jeollanam-do.
From October 16 to 19, the LPGA BMW Ladies Championship will take place at Pine Beach Golf Links in Haenam, marking the first-ever LPGA Tour event held in the Honam region. The tournament will be broadcast live to over 170 countries worldwide, turning the autumn-colored coast of Jeonnam into a global stage for women’s golf.
Among the world-class competitors are Lee Minjee, ranked fourth globally and a two-time major champion, as well as Korea’s top players Ko Jin-young, Kim Hyo-joo, and Yoo Hae-ran. International stars such as Brooke Henderson (Canada), Miyu Yamashita (Japan), and Maja Stark (Sweden) will also vie for the title, capturing the attention of golf fans around the world.
Notably, Lee Jeong-eun (sponsored by Jeollanam-do) has received a special invitation to join the field, putting Haenam in the global spotlight as the new center of women’s golf.
Jeollanam-do sees this championship as a golden opportunity to showcase the beauty and culture of Namdo to the world. The province will operate promotional booths for the Namdo International Culinary Industry Expo, the Yeosu World Island Expo, and the Jeonnam Tour Program, highlighting local agricultural, fishery, and livestock products, as well as major tourism and international events.
In addition, welcome kits featuring “K-Jeonnam Gim (seaweed)” will be presented to foreign players, and local specialties such as abalone will be served in the players’ dining facilities—offering a taste of Jeonnam’s signature flavors and hospitality on the global stage.
