전라남도와 목포시가 공동 주최한 ‘2025 남도국제미식산업박람회’의 청소년 프로그램 ‘남도미래셰프 청소년 조리경연’이 성황리에 마무리됐다.

이번 경연에는 예선을 통과한 전남지역 고등학생 14개 팀 26명이 참가해 남도의 식재료와 전통 조리법을 활용한 창의적 요리를 선보였다.

참가 학생들은 ‘청춘의 열정, 남도의 맛을 담다!’라는 슬로건 아래 기량을 겨루며 조리 기술과 창의성을 뽐냈다.

심사위원단은 조리 기술 숙련도, 지역 식재료 표현력, 맛의 조화 등을 기준으로 평가했으며, 그 결과 순천 효산고등학교 이하연·이동현 학생이 남도의 전복과 매실 크림소스를 활용한 ‘전복 크림 뇨끼’로 대상을 수상했다.

최우수상에는 순천 효산고 김태훈·이은규 학생, 우수상에는 순천 효산고 박예성·신희원 학생이 각각 선정됐다.

장려상은 목포성신고등학교 변권희·한주원, 안은혁·최성용 학생에게 돌아갔다.

홍양현 남도국제미식산업박람회 사무국장은 “청소년들의 열정과 남도의 맛이 어우러진 특별한 시간이었다.”며, “이번 경연을 통해 지역 식문화를 이끌어갈 미래 인재들이 더욱 성장하길 기대한다.”고 밝혔다.

Namdo Future Chefs Youth Cooking Contest Concludes Successfully
Yi Ha-yeon and Lee Dong-hyun of Suncheon Hyosan High School Win Grand Prize with ‘Abalone Cream Gnocchi’
The youth program “Namdo Future Chefs Youth Cooking Contest” held as part of the 2025 Namdo International Food Industry Expo, jointly hosted by Jeollanam-do and Mokpo City, concluded successfully.
A total of 26 high school students from 14 teams in the Jeonnam region, who advanced through the preliminary round, participated in the contest, showcasing creative dishes using Namdo ingredients and traditional cooking methods.
Under the slogan “Youthful Passion, Capturing the Flavors of Namdo!”, participants competed by demonstrating their culinary skills and creativity.
The judging panel evaluated the dishes based on cooking technique, expression of local ingredients, and flavor harmony. As a result, Yi Ha-yeon and Lee Dong-hyun of Suncheon Hyosan High School won the grand prize with their “Abalone Cream Gnocchi”, featuring abalone and plum cream sauce from Namdo.
The Excellence Award went to Kim Tae-hoon and Lee Eun-gyu of Suncheon Hyosan High School, the Merit Award to Park Ye-seong and Shin Hee-won of Suncheon Hyosan High School, and the Encouragement Awards were awarded to Byun Kwon-hee & Han Joo-won and Ahn Eun-hyuk & Choi Sung-yong of Mokpo Seongsin High School.
Hong Yang-hyun, Secretary General of the Namdo International Food Industry Expo, said, “It was a special moment where the passion of young people and the flavors of Namdo came together. We hope this contest will help nurture future talents who will lead the region’s food culture.”
