목포 KR갤러리(관장 오상원)는 오는 9월 30일(화) 오후 4시, 목포 평화로 38 골든타워 6층 KR갤러리에서 시민연극교실 발표회를 개최한다.
이번 발표회는 ‘2025 목포문화도시 문화다방 프로그램’의 일환으로, 목포·무안 지역민이 직접 참여해 연극을 무대에 올리는 특별한 자리다.
이번 무대에서는 중견 배우 안석환과 함께한 연극 교육 프로그램의 성과를 확인할 수 있으며, 프랑스 극작가 외젠 이오네스코의 부조리극 《대머리 여가수》가 공개된다.
작품은 일상의 대화가 반복과 혼돈으로 이어지는 과정을 통해 현대인의 소외와 소통 부재를 풍자하며, 시민 배우들은 자신들의 시선으로 메시지를 재해석해 무대에 올린다.
출연진은 목포시민 곽병희, 나지애, 백선아, 임사랑, 조연수, 무안군민, 기상돈, 서경림, 조영애, 조용상, 홍남선 등 총 10명이다.
각자의 개성과 삶의 이야기를 캐릭터에 녹여내며 관객에게 새로운 울림을 전달할 예정이다.
안석환 배우는 “이번 무대는 시민과 전문 배우가 함께 호흡하며 만들어낸 성과로, 연극이 지역사회 안에서 생활문화로 자리 잡는 계기가 될 것”이라고 의미를 전했다.
KR갤러리 전대상 부관장도 “시민이 직접 문화예술의 주체가 되어 창작과 발표를 경험하는 것이 문화도시 목포가 지향하는 핵심 가치”라며 “앞으로도 생활문화와 전문예술이 조화를 이루는 다양한 프로그램을 추진하겠다.”고 밝혔다.
공연은 무료로 진행되며, 관람을 원하는 시민은 사전 신청으로 참여할 수 있다.

2025 Mokpo Cultural City “Culture Café” Program: Citizen Theater Class Performance
Stage Play “The Bald Soprano” with Actor An Seok-hwan
Mokpo KR Gallery (Director Oh Sang-won) will hold the Citizen Theater Class performance on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at 4:00 PM on the 6th floor of KR Gallery, Golden Tower, 38 Pyeonghwa-ro, Mokpo.
This performance is part of the “2025 Mokpo Cultural City Culture Café Program” and provides a special opportunity for residents of Mokpo and Muan to participate directly in staging a play.
The performance will showcase the results of the theater education program led by veteran actor An Seok-hwan, featuring a public staging of Eugene Ionesco’s absurdist play, The Bald Soprano.
The play satirizes the alienation and lack of communication in modern life by portraying how ordinary conversations gradually turn into meaningless repetitions and chaos. Citizen actors reinterpret the play’s message through their own perspectives and bring it to life on stage.
The cast includes five Mokpo citizens—Gwak Byung-hee, Na Ji-ae, Baek Seon-ah, Lim Sa-rang, and Jo Yeon-su—and five Muan residents—Gi Sang-don, Seo Kyung-rim, Jo Young-ae, Jo Yong-sang, and Hong Nam-seon—totaling ten performers. Each participant brings their unique personality and life story to their character, offering the audience a fresh and engaging experience.
Actor An Seok-hwan commented, “This stage is a result of collaboration between citizens and professional actors, and I hope it will serve as a step toward establishing theater as a part of daily cultural life in our community.”
Deputy Director Jeon Dae-sang of KR Gallery added, “It is essential for citizens to actively engage as creators and presenters of cultural arts, which reflects the core value of Mokpo as a cultural city. We will continue to develop programs that harmonize everyday culture with professional arts.”
