전라남도는 (사)재서귀포시 전남도민회가 지난 10일 고향사랑기부금 500만 원을 전남도에 기탁했다고 12일 밝혔다.
이번 기부금은 재서귀포시 전남도민회원들이 고향에 대한 변함없는 사랑과 감사의 마음을 담아 자발적으로 마련한 것으로, 기탁식에는 장은술 회장을 비롯해 박상식 상임부회장, 박종근·이관식·강승원 부회장, 김상도 감사, 박성준 총무 등 주요 향우들이 참석했다.
장은술 회장은 “비록 몸은 제주에 있지만 마음은 늘 고향 전남에 있다”며 “회원들이 십시일반으로 모은 정성이 고향 발전에 조금이나마 보탬이 되길 바란다. 앞으로도 고향을 위해 꾸준히 힘을 보태겠다.”고 말했다.
명창환 전남도 행정부지사는 “출향민 여러분의 정성과 참여가 고향사랑기부제의 의미를 더욱 깊게 만들어주고 있다”며 “따뜻한 마음에 깊이 감사드리며, 소중한 기부금은 지역 발전과 주민 복지 향상에 투명하게 활용하겠다.”고 전했다.
(사)재서귀포시 전남도민회는 1971년 출범해 현재 약 5만 명의 회원이 활동 중이다.
향우회원들은 지역 교류와 고향 방문 등을 통해 전남과의 끈끈한 유대감을 이어가고 있다.
한편, 고향사랑기부제는 개인이 자신의 주소지를 제외한 지방자치단체에 연간 최대 2천만 원까지 기부할 수 있는 제도로, 기부 금액의 30% 이내에서 답례품이 제공된다.
또한 10만 원까지는 전액, 초과분에 대해서는 16.5%의 세액공제 혜택이 주어진다. 기부금은 주민 복리 증진을 위한 다양한 지역 사업에 사용된다.

Jeju Seogwipo Jeonnam Association Donates 5 Million Won to Hometown Love Fund
– Demonstrating unwavering affection and commitment to their hometown –
Jeollanam-do Province announced on the 12th that the Jeju Seogwipo Jeonnam Association donated 5 million won to the Hometown Love Donation Program on the 10th.
This donation was voluntarily raised by association members as an expression of their enduring love and gratitude toward their hometown.
At the donation ceremony, Chairman Jang Eun-sul was joined by Park Sang-sik, Executive Vice Chairman; Park Jong-geun, Lee Gwan-sik, and Kang Seung-won, Vice Chairmen; Kim Sang-do, Auditor; and Park Sung-jun, Secretary-General.
Chairman Jang said,
“Although we live in Jeju, our hearts remain with our hometown, Jeonnam. We hope that this small contribution, collected through the goodwill of our members, will help support the province’s development. We will continue working together for the betterment of our hometown.”
Vice Governor Myung Chang-hwan of Jeollanam-do expressed his gratitude, saying,
“The sincerity and participation of our fellow citizens living outside the province deepen the true meaning of the Hometown Love Donation Program. We are deeply thankful for their warm support and will ensure that the donations are used transparently to promote regional development and residents’ welfare.”
Founded in 1971, the Jeju Seogwipo Jeonnam Association has approximately 50,000 members who maintain close ties with their hometown through regional exchange programs and regular visits.
Meanwhile, the Hometown Love Donation Program allows individuals to donate up to 20 million won per year to local governments other than the one where they reside. Donors receive return gifts worth up to 30% of their contribution. In addition, donations up to 100,000 won are fully tax-deductible, while amounts exceeding that are eligible for a 16.5% tax credit.
The funds are used to support projects that enhance residents’ welfare and community development.
