전라남도가 21일(현지시간) 미국 로스앤젤레스 한인상공회의소에서 ‘전남도 투자설명회(IR)’를 개최했다.

이번 설명회에는 LA지역 한인 경제계와 현지 기업인, 투자자 등 150여 명이 참석해 전남도의 투자환경과 스타트업 육성계획, 각종 기업 지원사업을 집중적으로 소개했다.

이번 행사는 전남중소기업일자리경제진흥원과 공동으로 추진했으며, 전남도의 투자환경 및 산업 인프라, 첨단산업 및 K-푸드·바이오, 데이터센터 등 전략산업 육성 계획, 외국인 투자기업 지원제도 등을 중심으로 진행됐다.

설명회는 투자유치 세션과 네트워킹 프로그램을 함께 운영, 미국 현지 기업과의 협력 기회를 모색하는 시간도 마련됐다.

전남도는 LA지역 한인 경제단체와 현지 기업과의 개별 면담을 통해 첨단 전략 산업, 식품·바이오, 청정에너지 분야의 투자 기회를 적극 발굴할 계획이다.

서은수 전남도 일자리투자유치국장은 “전남도는 청정한 자연환경과 산업단지, 글로벌 물류 인프라를 갖춘 투자 최적지”라며 “이번 LA 투자설명회를 통해 현지 기업과 투자자에게 전남의 강점을 알리고 스타트업과 글로벌 기업 유치를 위한 초석을 다지겠다.”고 말했다.

전남도는 최근 오픈AI와 SK사의 데이터센터 구축 발표를 계기로 AI 산업 생태계 조성, 글로벌 기업 유치, AI 인재 양성 등 전략적 투자를 본격 추진하고 있으며, 주요 해외 거점에서 현지 기관 및 한인 경제단체와 협력할 계획이다.

Jeonnam Province Accelerates Investment Promotion in Los Angeles

On October 21 (local time), Jeonnam Province held an investment briefing (IR) at the Korean-American Chamber of Commerce in Los Angeles, USA.
The briefing was attended by over 150 members of the local Korean business community, companies, and investors. It showcased Jeonnam’s investment environment, startup support plans, and various corporate incentive programs.
The event was jointly organized with the Jeonnam Small and Medium Business Employment and Economy Promotion Agency. Presentations highlighted Jeonnam’s investment climate and industrial infrastructure, strategies for fostering advanced industries, K-Food, bio sectors, and data centers, as well as support programs for foreign-invested companies.
The briefing included both an investment promotion session and networking opportunities, providing a platform for collaboration with Korean companies based in the U.S.
Jeonnam Province plans to actively explore investment opportunities in advanced strategic industries, food and bio sectors, and clean energy through individual meetings with local Korean business organizations and U.S. companies.
Seo Eun-su, Director of Jeonnam’s Jobs and Investment Promotion Bureau, said, “Jeonnam offers pristine natural environments, industrial complexes, and global logistics infrastructure, making it an ideal investment destination. Through this Los Angeles briefing, we aim to showcase Jeonnam’s strengths and lay the groundwork for startups and global companies to invest.”
Following recent announcements on data center constructions by OpenAI and SK Corporation, Jeonnam Province is moving forward with strategic investments to build an AI industry ecosystem, attract global companies, and nurture AI talent. The province also plans to strengthen collaboration with local institutions and Korean business organizations at key overseas hubs.
