423일 오전 전남 나주시 동수농공단지 내 플라스틱 제조 공장에서 대형 화재가 발생했으나, 소방당국의 신속한 대응으로 33분 만에 큰 불길이 잡혔다.

전남소방본부에 따르면 화재는 2월 23일 오전 11시 56분경 나주시 동수농공단지길 137-29 소재 나산플라스틱 공장에서 발생했다.

이후 고가사다리차와 화학차 등을 투입해 연소 확대를 차단했고, 오전 12시 29분 초진에 성공했다.

이날 화재 현장에는 지휘차 1대, 펌프차 4대, 탱크차 3대, 고가사다리차 2대, 화학차 1대, 구조·구급차 각 1대 등 총 16대의 장비가 투입됐다.
경찰과 한전도 현장에 출동해 안전 통제와 전력 차단 조치에 협조했다.
공장은 플라스틱을 취급하는 제조시설로, 가연성 물질이 다수 적재돼 있어 대형 화재로 번질 가능성도 배제할 수 없는 상황이었다.
다행히 신속한 초기 진압으로 인근 공장으로의 연소 확대는 막은 것으로 전해졌다.

■ 인명·재산 피해 조사 중… 정확한 원인 규명 착수
현재까지 인명 피해와 재산 피해 규모는 조사 중이다.
소방당국은 잔불 정리와 함께 정확한 화재 원인과 피해 규모를 정밀 조사할 방침이다.

A total of 16 vehicles were mobilized, including one command vehicle, four pump engines, three water tankers, two aerial ladder trucks, one chemical fire engine, one rescue unit, and one ambulance. Police and Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) personnel were also dispatched to assist with traffic control and power shut-off measures.
As the facility handles plastic materials, a significant amount of flammable substances was stored on-site, raising concerns about potential large-scale damage. Fortunately, rapid initial suppression prevented the fire from spreading to nearby factories.
■ Casualties and Property Damage Under Investigation
As of now, the extent of casualties and property damage is under investigation.
Fire authorities are conducting mop-up operations while launching a detailed investigation into the exact cause of the fire and the scale of the damage.
