해남교도소(소장 김남진) 보라미봉사단이 지역사회와의 상생을 위한 따뜻한 나눔 활동을 이어가며 교정행정의 새로운 방향성을 보여주고 있다.

해남교도소는 지난 4월 29일 해남군 옥천면에 위치한 사회복지시설을 방문해 환경정비 봉사활동을 실시했다고 밝혔다. 이날 봉사활동에는 수형자와 교정위원, 직원 등 총 14명이 참여해 시설 내·외부 청소와 주변 환경정비 작업에 구슬땀을 흘렸다.

참여자들은 쾌적한 생활환경 조성을 위해 시설 곳곳을 정비하며 의미 있는 시간을 보냈으며, 봉사 현장에는 밝은 웃음과 따뜻한 분위기가 이어졌다.

봉사에 참여한 한 수형자는 “작은 도움이지만 누군가에게 기쁨을 줄 수 있어 보람찬 시간이었다.”며 “앞으로도 이런 기회가 계속되길 바란다.”고 소감을 전했다.

김남진 해남교도소장은 “정기적인 봉사활동은 수형자들이 타인을 배려하고 스스로를 성찰하는 계기가 된다.”며 “지역사회와 지속적으로 소통하며 수형자들의 성공적인 사회 복귀를 돕는 다양한 프로그램을 확대해 나가겠다.”고 밝혔다.

해남교도소는 앞으로도 보라미봉사단을 중심으로 지역사회 공헌 활동을 지속적으로 추진하며, 수형자의 건전한 가치관 형성과 사회 적응력 향상을 위한 교정 프로그램을 강화해 나갈 방침이다.

The Borami Volunteer Group of Haenam Correctional Institution (Warden Kim Nam-jin) is continuing its warm sharing activities for mutual growth with the local community, presenting a new direction for correctional administration.
According to the institution, on April 29 it carried out a volunteer service activity at a social welfare facility located in Okcheon-myeon, Haenam County. A total of 14 participants—including inmates, correctional committee members, and staff—took part, working diligently on indoor and outdoor cleaning as well as environmental maintenance around the facility.
The participants spent meaningful time improving the living environment, and the volunteer site was filled with bright smiles and a warm atmosphere.
One inmate who participated in the activity said, “Although it was a small contribution, it was a rewarding time knowing that I could bring joy to someone,” adding, “I hope opportunities like this will continue.”
Warden Kim Nam-jin stated, “Regular volunteer activities provide inmates with valuable opportunities to reflect on themselves while learning to care for others,” and added, “We will continue to communicate with the local community and expand various programs to support inmates’ successful reintegration into society.”
Haenam Correctional Institution plans to continue promoting community service activities centered on the Borami Volunteer Group while strengthening correctional programs aimed at fostering sound values and improving inmates’ social adaptability.
