국립호남권생물자원관과 전남온라인학교가 생물다양성과 환경교육 확대, 학생 진로탐색 지원을 위해 손을 맞잡았다.
국립호남권생물자원관(관장 박진영)과 전남온라인학교(교장 문은희)는 지난 19일 생물자원 및 환경교육 활성화와 학생들의 진로탐색 기회 확대를 위한 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다고 밝혔다.

이번 협약은 국립호남권생물자원관이 보유한 생물자원 교육 인프라와 전문성을 바탕으로 학생들의 생물다양성 보전 인식을 높이고, 생물자원 및 환경 분야 고교학점제 공동교육과정을 강화하기 위해 마련됐다.

협약에 따라 양 기관은 ▲생물다양성 분야 온·오프라인 교육프로그램 운영 ▲학생 대상 진로탐색 활동 지원을 위한 교육 협력 ▲생물자원 및 환경 관련 고교학점제 공동교육과정 운영 등을 공동 추진할 계획이다.

특히 국립호남권생물자원관의 생물자원 연구 성과를 활용해 학생들이 섬·연안 생물자원의 생태적 특성과 보전 가치를 보다 쉽게 이해할 수 있도록 체험형·실습형 교육프로그램도 함께 운영할 예정이다.

박진영 관장은 “자원관의 생물자원 교육 인프라와 전문성을 적극 활용해 학생 개개인의 진로와 적성에 맞는 맞춤형 교육이 이뤄질 수 있도록 고교학점제 과정 지원에 힘쓰겠다.”고 밝혔다.

Expanding Biological Resources and Environmental Education… Strengthening Joint High School Credit System Programs
The National Marine Biodiversity Institute of Korea and Jeonnam Online School have joined hands to expand biodiversity and environmental education while supporting students’ career exploration opportunities.
The National Marine Biodiversity Institute of Korea (President Park Jin-young) and Jeonnam Online School (Principal Moon Eun-hee) announced on May 19 that they signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) aimed at promoting biological resource and environmental education and expanding career exploration opportunities for students.
The agreement was designed to enhance students’ awareness of biodiversity conservation and strengthen joint high school credit system programs related to biological resources and environmental studies by utilizing the institute’s educational infrastructure and expertise in biological resources.
Under the agreement, the two organizations plan to jointly 추진할 several initiatives, including:
▲ operating online and offline educational programs in the field of biodiversity,
▲ providing educational cooperation to support students’ career exploration activities, and
▲ developing and operating joint high school credit system courses related to biological resources and environmental studies.
In particular, the National Marine Biodiversity Institute of Korea plans to utilize its research achievements in biological resources to offer hands-on and practical educational programs that will help students better understand the ecological characteristics and conservation value of island and coastal biological resources.
President Park Jin-young stated, “We will actively utilize the institute’s educational infrastructure and expertise in biological resources to support high school credit system programs tailored to each student’s career path and aptitude.”
