제33회 초의문화제, 세계문화유산 대흥사에서 개최

해남군은 오는 10월 18일(토)부터 19일(일)까지 이틀간, 유네스코 세계문화유산으로 등재된 대흥사 호국대전 일원에서 「제33회 초의문화제」를 개최한다.

이번 행사는 해남군이 주최하고 (사)해남다인회가 주관하며, 전라남도·대흥사·해남군 차인연합회·해남다도대학이 후원한다.

10월 18일(토)
16:00 전야제 개막 : 다도 시연과 전통 공연, 풍류 한마당
체험 프로그램 : 차 나눔 행사, 어린이 전통 다례 체험, 전통 차 만들기 시연
전시 프로그램 : 차(茶) 도구 및 유물 특별전, 지역 작가 초대 서예·도자기 전시

10월 19일(일)
10:00 기념식 : 초의선사 추모 헌다례, 기념 공연
초의상(草衣賞) 시상식 : 차문화 발전에 기여한 인물 시상
체험 프로그램 : 다도 교실, 전통 차 생활용품 만들기, 대흥사 산사길 다도 체험
문화 공연 : 국악, 전통무용, 퓨전 음악 무대
상설 체험 : 전통놀이 마당, 차 향기 가득한 휴식 공간 운영

이번 초의문화제는 초의선사의 숭고한 다도 정신을 되새기고, 차문화를 체험하며 즐길 수 있는 다채로운 프로그램으로 채워진다.

해남군 관계자는 “대흥사의 깊은 가을 풍경 속에서 차향과 함께하는 특별한 시간을 즐기길 바란다.”며, “군민과 관광객 모두가 어우러지는 문화축제가 될 것.”이라고 전했다.

The 33rd Choui Cultural Festival to Be Held at UNESCO World Heritage Daeheungsa Temple
― Honoring the Spirit of “Tea and Zen as One (茶禪一如)” and Opening the Future of Tea Culture ―
Haenam County will host the 33rd Choui Cultural Festival from October 18 (Sat) to 19 (Sun) at the Daeheungsa Temple Hogukdaejeon precincts, a site inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The event is organized by Haenam County and the Haenam Dain Association, with support from Jeollanam-do Province, Daeheungsa Temple, the Haenam Tea Association, and Haenam Tea Academy.
■ Main Program Schedule
October 18 (Sat)
16:00 Opening Ceremony: Tea ceremony demonstrations and traditional performances, Pungnyu Hanmadang (classical entertainment showcase)
Experience Programs: Tea sharing event, traditional tea etiquette class for children, traditional tea-making demonstration
Exhibitions: Special exhibition of tea utensils and relics, invitational calligraphy and ceramics exhibition by local artists
October 19 (Sun)
10:00 Commemorative Ceremony: Choui Seonsa memorial tea rite, commemorative performances
Choui Award Ceremony: Presentation of the Choui Award to individuals who have contributed to the development of tea culture
Experience Programs: Tea culture classes, traditional tea craft workshop, tea ceremony experience along the Daeheungsa mountain temple path
Cultural Performances: Korean traditional music, traditional dance, fusion music stage
Ongoing Programs: Traditional folk games, tea-scented rest area for visitors
This year’s Choui Cultural Festival is designed to honor the noble spirit of Choui Seonsa, while also offering a rich variety of experiences to celebrate and enjoy the world of tea culture.
A Haenam County official remarked, “We hope visitors will enjoy a special time surrounded by the deep autumn scenery of Daeheungsa Temple and the fragrance of tea. This festival will be a cultural celebration where residents and tourists come together as one.”
