국립목포해양대학교 해양산업대학원 해양·수산 최고경영자과정 총동문회가 새 리더십과 함께 또 한 번의 도약을 선언했다.

총동문회는 2026년 2월 20일 오후 6시 30분 대학본부 5층 컨벤션홀에서 총동문회장 이·취임식을 개최하고 동문 화합과 해양·수산 산업 발전을 위한 실천적 행보를 다짐했다.

이날 행사는 1기부터 6기까지 기수별 입장식으로 시작됐다.
동문들은 박수 속에 차례로 입장하며 세대를 넘어 이어진 결속과 전통을 확인했다.
홍태춘 전 총동문회장의 개회선언으로 본격적인 일정이 이어졌다.

행사에는 김원이, 신정훈 국회의원을 비롯해 목포시수협 김청용 조합장, 최부홍 총장, 전경선 전남도의원 등 주요 인사와 동문 200여 명이 참석해 성황을 이뤘다.

이임하는 강춘길 회장은 “지난 1년 동안 동문 여러분의 성원과 협조 덕분에 소임을 다할 수 있었다.”며 “앞으로도 동문회의 발전을 위해 힘을 보태겠다.”고 감사의 뜻을 전했다.

새로 취임한 김재웅 회장은 취임사에서 분명한 방향을 제시했다.
그는 “선배 기수들이 다져온 전통 위에 동문 간 소통과 협력을 더욱 강화하겠다.”며 “해양·수산 산업 발전과 지역사회에 기여하는 실천적 동문회로 성장시키겠다.”고 강조했다.

총동문회는 앞으로 동문 네트워크 활성화와 산·학 협력 확대를 핵심 과제로 삼아, 해양·수산 분야 전문 경영인 교류의 중심 플랫폼으로 자리매김한다는 계획이다.
단순 친목을 넘어 정책 제안과 산업 연계, 지역경제 활성화에 기여하는 ‘행동하는 동문회’로 체질을 강화하겠다는 구상이다.

행사장 한편에서는 오는 6월 선거를 앞두고 출마를 준비하는 동문 후배들이 선후배들과 인사를 나누며 명함을 건네는 모습도 이어졌다.
정중히 두 손으로 내민 명함 위로 짧은 덕담과 웃음이 오갔고, 오랜만에 만난 동문들은 서로의 어깨를 다독이며 새로운 도전을 응원했다.

바다를 닮은 인연처럼 각자의 항로는 달라도, 같은 배움의 시간을 공유한 기억은 깊은 울림으로 남았다.

교정에서 시작된 인연이 지역과 사회를 향한 또 다른 책임과 도전으로 이어진 순간, 이날 이·취임식은 단순한 행사를 넘어 해양·수산 리더 네트워크의 새로운 출항을 알리는 의미 있는 자리로 기록됐다.

The Alumni Association of the Marine & Fisheries Advanced CEO Program at the Graduate School of Maritime Industry, Mokpo National Maritime University, has declared another leap forward under new leadership.
On February 20, 2026, at 6:30 p.m., the association held its presidential inauguration and retirement ceremony at the Convention Hall on the 5th floor of the university’s main building, reaffirming alumni unity and pledging concrete action toward the development of the marine and fisheries industry.
The event began with an entrance ceremony for representatives from the 1st through 6th cohorts. Amid warm applause, alumni entered in sequence, reaffirming a tradition and solidarity that transcend generations. The official program commenced with an opening declaration by former Alumni President Hong Tae-chun.
Distinguished guests included National Assembly members Kim Won-yi and Shin Jung-hoon, Mokpo City Fisheries Cooperative President Kim Cheong-yong, President Choi Bu-hong, Jeonnam Provincial Council member Jeon Gyeong-seon, and approximately 200 alumni and invited guests.
Outgoing President Kang Chun-gil expressed his gratitude, stating, “I was able to fulfill my responsibilities over the past year thanks to the support and cooperation of our alumni,” adding, “I will continue to contribute to the association’s growth.”
In his inaugural address, newly appointed President Kim Jae-woong presented a clear direction.
“Building upon the tradition established by our senior cohorts, we will further strengthen communication and cooperation among alumni,” he said. “We will grow into a practical alumni association that contributes to the advancement of the marine and fisheries industry and to our local communities.”
The association plans to prioritize revitalizing its alumni network and expanding industry–academia collaboration, positioning itself as a central platform for professional exchange among executives in the marine and fisheries sector. Moving beyond fellowship, it aims to evolve into an “action-oriented alumni association” that contributes to policy proposals, industrial linkage, and regional economic revitalization.
Meanwhile, in one corner of the venue, alumni preparing to run in the upcoming June elections exchanged greetings and business cards with their seniors and juniors. Each carefully offered card was accompanied by brief words of encouragement and shared laughter, as long-time colleagues patted one another on the shoulder in support of new challenges ahead.
Like bonds shaped by the sea, though each may sail a different course, the shared memories of learning together resonated deeply.
What began on campus has now extended into renewed responsibilities and challenges for the region and society. The inauguration ceremony thus marked more than a formal leadership transition—it signaled the new departure of a network of marine and fisheries leaders ready to navigate the future together.
