영산강유역환경청(청장 김영우)은 다가오는 추석 명절을 맞아 10월 1일(수), 광주광역시에 위치한 지역사회재활시설 ‘엠마우스복지관’을 찾아 위문품을 전달하며 이웃사랑 나눔을 실천할 예정이다.

1985년 10월 설립된 ‘엠마우스복지관’은 지적·자폐장애인들이 지역사회 안에서 안정적이고 질 높은 삶을 누릴 수 있도록 다양한 재활서비스를 제공하는 시설이다.

영산강유역환경청은 매년 명절 위문 활동을 통해 지역사회 공헌과 나눔 문화 확산에 힘써 왔으며, 이번 추석에도 시설 운영에 필요한 위문품을 전달하며 장애인과 시설 종사자들에게 따뜻한 온정을 전할 계획이다.

김영우 청장은 “추석 명절을 앞두고 도움이 필요한 이웃에게 작은 힘이나마 보탬이 되길 바란다.며, “앞으로도 영산강유역환경청은 이웃사랑을 실천하는 지역사회 분위기 조성에 앞장서겠다.”고 밝혔다.

이번 행사는 지역사회와 함께하는 나눔 문화 확산의 의미를 더하며, 모두가 따뜻한 추석 명절을 맞이할 수 있도록 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

The Yeongsan River Basin Environmental Office (Director Kim Young-woo) will celebrate the upcoming Chuseok holiday by visiting the Emmaus Welfare Center, a community rehabilitation facility in Gwangju, on Wednesday, October 1, to deliver gifts and share acts of neighborly love.
Founded in October 1985, the Emmaus Welfare Center provides various rehabilitation services to ensure that individuals with intellectual and autism-related disabilities can enjoy a stable and high-quality life within the community.
The Yeongsan River Basin Environmental Office has long been committed to contributing to the local community and promoting a culture of sharing through holiday visits. This Chuseok, the Office plans to deliver essential supplies to support the center’s operations, spreading warmth to both the residents and staff.
Director Kim Young-woo stated, “We hope that our small contribution can provide some help to neighbors in need during the Chuseok holiday. The Yeongsan River Basin Environmental Office will continue to take the lead in fostering a community spirit of caring and neighborly love.”
