“한낮 주택 덮친 화마”… 나주 봉황면 화재로 주민 2명 화상

23일 낮, 전남 나주시 봉황면 한 주택에서 화재가 발생해 주민 2명이 화상을 입는 사고가 발생했다.

소방당국에 따르면 화재는 2월 23일 오후 12시 5분경 나주시 봉황면 죽석리 598-1번지 소재 주택에서 발생했다.
“주택에 불이 났다”는 신고가 접수되자 즉시 출동 지령이 내려졌고, 소방과 경찰, 한전 등 유관기관이 공동 대응에 나섰다.

현장에는 펌프차 4대와 구조차 1대, 구급차 1대 등 총 8대의 장비가 투입됐다.
신고 접수 직후 상황이 전파됐으며, 선착대는 신속히 도착해 초기 진화와 인명 구조 활동을 병행했다.
당시 나주지휘 차량은 공장 화재 현장 활동 중이었던 것으로 전해졌다.

이 화재로 2명의 경상자가 발생했다.
오후 12시 22분경 안면부 2도 화상을 입은 환자 1명이 확인됐고, 이어 12시 35분경 이마 부위 1도 화상 환자 1명이 추가 발생했다.
빛가람 구급대는 환자 이송을 준비하며 긴급 처치에 나섰다.

현재 정확한 화재 원인과 재산 피해 규모는 조사 중이다.
소방당국은 “겨울철 난방기기 사용 증가와 전기 설비 과부하 등 계절적 요인으로 주택 화재 위험이 높다”며 “전열기기 사용 후 반드시 전원을 차단하고, 주택용 소방시설을 점검해 달라”고 당부했다.

이번 사고는 평일 낮 시간대 발생한 주택 화재로, 자칫 대형 인명 피해로 이어질 수 있었던 만큼 초기 대응의 중요성을 다시 한 번 환기시키고 있다.

Upon receiving a report that “a house is on fire,” emergency dispatch orders were immediately issued, and firefighters, police officers, and Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) personnel responded jointly to the scene.
A total of eight emergency vehicles were deployed, including four pump trucks, one rescue vehicle, and one ambulance. Situation reports were promptly shared, and the first responding unit arrived quickly, carrying out both initial fire suppression and rescue operations simultaneously. It was reported that the Naju command unit was engaged at another factory fire scene at the time.
The fire resulted in two minor injuries. At approximately 12:22 p.m., one victim was confirmed to have sustained second-degree burns to the face. At 12:35 p.m., another victim was identified with first-degree burns to the forehead. The Bitgaram emergency medical team prepared for patient transport while administering on-site emergency treatment.
Authorities are currently investigating the exact cause of the fire and assessing the extent of property damage.
Fire officials warned that the risk of residential fires increases during winter due to greater use of heating appliances and potential electrical overload. They urged residents to turn off electric heating devices after use and to regularly inspect home fire safety equipment.
As the fire occurred during daytime hours on a weekday, officials emphasized that the incident serves as a reminder of the critical importance of rapid initial response to prevent large-scale casualties.
